EYW has a long history of partnering up with Sydney universities and TAFEs, offering placements for bachelor’s and master’s degree students studying social welfare, community services, or seeking youth work certificates and diplomas. Students must complete between 120-500 hours in their field of study, and in one year we may see 10-16 students come through EYW’s doors to gain the experience needed to complete their degrees. The program also assists EYW, as the students provide much needed professional volunteer hours to our organisation, bringing new knowledge and also saving us money.
EYW offers an excellent scope of experiences and training opportunities for students to engage with. It is also important to note that through these placements, some students even have gained full-time employment with EYW and gone on to give back to the organisation.
